ABOUT US
SCRIPTUAL. SINCERE. SIMPLE. SMALL
SCRIPTUAL
We believe that following the Scriptures is vital to being a Biblical church. So, following the Bible and teaching it in an understandable way is important to us. Click here to find out what we believe.
SINCERE
Our main objective is to worship and serve God, not to have the biggest or richest church. Although no church or person is perfect, we do try to keep our priorities straight.
SIMPLE
We don't have gimmicks or layers of programs. We worship and serve God, grow spiritually, and love each other.
It's as simple as that!
SMALL
In a world of "bigger is better," we don't stack up. Instead we have closeness where everyone can have a relationship with everyone else.
What We Believe
To put things simply, we at Friends In Faith believe the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It is the record that God has left for people to know and follow Him. The following is a brief list of what we believe the Bible has to say about spiritual issues.
THE TRINITY
We believe that there is one true God who manifests Himself in three co-existent, eternally distinct "persons," the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
INSPIRATION
We believe that God authored the entire Bible using men to write it, and it is completely true from Genesis to Revelation. Therefore, it is the source for what we believe and practice.
CREATION
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image and they were innocent of any sin. Adam willingly and knowingly sinned against God and became a sinner as a result. All people today are sinners by nature because of that act and have fallen short of the glory of God.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ came from above to be a sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. He died on the cross, was buried, was raised on the third day, and has gone back to be with the Father.
FORGIVENESS
We believe that everyone who believes in what Jesus did and repents of their sin finds forgiveness and has eternal life. This gives the believer a new life with God that can never be lost.
SAVED BY FAITH
We believe that no one can go to heaven except by believing in Christ. Although people should do good works, doing them is not a part of salvation.
LOCAL CHURCH
We believe that while on earth Jesus instituted His church, which has always been a local congregation of Scripturally baptized believers. Jesus has tasked His church with carrying out baptism and the Lord's Supper, and He has left believers here to spread the gospel of salvation.
MORALITY
We believe that all believers are called to live lives that glorify God. As such, we believe we should live our lives with moral purity and love, with Jesus being our Great Example. We further believe that the Bible should define our sense of morality and not the changing opinions of society.
GOVERNMENT
We believe that God has ordained human government and that we should follow its laws unless they conflict with what God commands us to do. We are thankful that we live in the United States and pray that our civil liberties will remain intact.
JESUS' RETURN
We believe that Jesus will return one day to complete believers' salvation with the resurrection and the rapture. He will also return to the earth to judge sin and rule.
